July 2018

In January this year, David Brown Santasalo signed a teaming agreement to provide localised support to BAE Systems on the Future Frigate programme.  The scope of the project would see the global industrial gear manufacturer maximise the involvement of Australian industry in all phases of the project.

As a world leader in naval transmissions, David Brown Santasalo is ideally equipped to work with BAE Systems on this exciting project.  They plan to develop a close partnership with BAE to design, build and support the programme, creating 30 direct jobs in Australia and a further 60 in the supply chain.

With a strong team already based in Australia, David Brown Santasalo is committed to building on its successes as an employer of highly skilled individuals.  They would continue to develop the skillsets of its people, who relish the opportunity to pass their knowledge onto the next generation of power transmission specialists.

Dean Leydecker, Managing Director Australia said, “The award of the Commonwealth of Australia’s SEA 5000 Future Frigate programme to BAE Systems presents significant benefits to the Australian economy.  We welcome the opportunity to be part of a partnership that would generate new employment opportunities for a skilled local workforce, in what will be an exciting time for the industry.”
