David Brown Santasalo opens location in Turkey
David Brown Santasalo (DBS) is pleased to announce the opening of their new location in Istanbul, Turkey. This marks an exciting new chapter for the business, which was celebrated with a grand opening ceremony on Wednesday 31 October 2018.
The global gear manufacturer welcomed over 30 guests which included key customers and members of the DBS global team, along with Judith Slater, HM Consul General Istanbul and HM Trade Commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia from the Department for International Trade, British Consulate-General Istanbul. Judith had the honour of cutting the ribbon to declare the new site officially open.
This is an important step for DBS, as they take their extensive experience in delivering advanced gear systems, and apply it to supporting the next generation of combat vehicle transmission projects. They will provide a local service, strengthened by a global network of manufacturing and service centres, which is vital in their ongoing support of the Turkish land and marine defence market.
Steve Watson, Global Defence Director at David Brown Santasalo comments, “Launching a site in Istanbul has been a natural progression for the business, as it provides a location near to key land and marine defence customers. This will provide us with a strong foothold in one of the largest defence markets in the world, and enable us to locally support our customers.”
David Brown Santasalo are pleased to support the local economy with the creation of eight positions, with a view to growing this number throughout 2019. They look forward to developing their presence in Turkey and continue to provide mission critical defence solutions, in an industry where failure is not an option.
