Gear Academy training success with valued customer, Eskom!
David Brown Santasalo’s (DBS) resident Development Director, Mike Field recently delivered an outstanding training session to our extremely valued customer, Eskom, via our proprietary Gear Academy training programme.
Mike attended Eskom’s facility in South Africa, along with one of our sales representatives, Lorraine Ragalavhanda, where they welcomed 27 attendees, which included 16 of Eskom’s engineers. The session was lively, interactive and extremely valuable to all who attended.

About Mike Field, DBS Development Director
Mike has had a long and prosperous career with David Brown Santasalo, spanning almost 50 years. Starting out in the Research and Development department at our Huddersfield site in 1974, taking on a Product Development Engineer role. He then emigrated to South Africa in 1987 to become Engineering Manager at the DBS facility in Benoni, and later assuming the role of Managing Director role for our South Africa business.
In 2005, Mike accepted the position of General Manager of DBS China, before returning to reprise his role as Managing Director of South Africa. In his current role as Development Director, Mike is dedicated to sharing his expertise with others and ensuring everybody’s training needs are met.
All attendees received a printed certificate of achievement and Eskom has expressed interest in a follow up session, which will combine theory & practical training!
