Happy World Engineering Day 2026!

Today, on 4th March 2026, we proudly celebrate World Engineering Day, recognising the vital role engineers play in driving a smarter, more sustainable and innovative future. As leading experts in engineered mechanical power transmissions, David Brown Santasalo continues to keep essential industries turning through robust engineering expertise.

This year’s global theme, “Smart Engineering for a Sustainable Future Through Innovation and Digitalization,” highlights how engineering drives progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Reflecting these ambitions, DBS became the first business of our kind to have our Science Based Targets validated by the SBTi in 2024, strengthening our commitment to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 53.9% by 2032 (from a 2021 base year).

Along with our continuing journey with the SBTi for a sustainable future, we were awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Sustainability Rating in April 2025. This result placed us among the top 35% of companies assess by EcoVadis in that 12 month period! In addition, we also introduced our pioneering Carbon Footprint of Products (CFP) “Cradle to Gate” CO₂e reporting for mining products and segmented girth gears, enhancing transparency and supporting more sustainable decision‑making.

In line with our long‑term commitment to engineering excellence, we continue to develop world-class engineering capability across our business, supported by apprenticeships, leadership development and graduate training programmes. This long‑term investment ensures the skills, experience and expertise required to deliver meaningful impact for our customers and the industries we serve.
