David Brown Santasalo are excited to announce that we are recruiting for a Commercial Director. This is a newly created key appointment as part of the senior leadership team with hybrid working. You will be required to oversee and be responsible for planning, developing and implementing commercial strategies, ensuring all departments are accountable and aligned to the delivery of company targets and objectives and supporting and accelerating growth. A strategic thinker with exceptional negotiation skills and experience of understanding contractual negotiation and complexities you will focus on multi-million-pound, multi-year defence contracts and navigating stage gates within the defence industry. Previous experience of leading a team across Commercial Modelling, Legal, and Proposals whilst demonstrating collaboration and synergy to achieve successful contract outcomes is essential.
We are looking for somebody who has significant manufacturing experience in a Commercial Management role at a senior level ideally within the defence industry / machining / Precision Engineering manufacturing industry OR time sensitive and complex manufacturing environment with a focus on negotiating multi-million-pound, multi-year contracts. Knowledge and experience of the requirements and processes for SSR, QMAC and CAAS and an In-depth knowledge of stage gate processes and their application in contract negotiation and management is essential. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are paramount with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organisation with a sound understanding of financial analysis, including pricing strategies, cost estimation, and profitability. Ideally you will have previous experience working within a matrix management structure.You will have the ability to develop and implement business plans and manufacturing resource strategies and thrives in a fast paced, dynmic environment with a strong commitment to delivering results under tight deadlines.
