David Brown Santasalo complete Winch Drum rebuild

David Brown Santasalo Australia recently completed a full strip and rebuild of a ZOLLERN ZHP 4.33 Rope Winch Drum for valued mining industry partner, ZOLLERN. The 7,550kg Winch Drum powers a coal loader, with an output torque of 400kNm (Stat Max) and an input torque of 893Nm.

As a service agent for ZOLLERN, we have built experience and expertise of their range of winches. Whilst carrying out this rebuild project, we were pleased to have the additional assistance of one of ZOLLERN’s Service Engineers based in Germany to ensure we met the extremely tight deadline. The rebuild included the replacement of all OEM bearings, seals, o’rings and both brake assemblies, along with rigorous testing on our 1MW test bed.

The standard shutdown routine allowed our team of experts to run shifts around the clock to meet our customer's stringent timeframe, impressively minimising their downtime to only four days. As a result of our team’s hard work and dedication, we ensured the Rope Winch Drum was rebuilt and delivered to the highest of standards.
